Almost Guest of Koshares

Harry S. Truman, President of the United States was almost a guest of the Koshare Indians at their 14th annual spring ceremonial here Wednesday and Thursday.

It was announced this morning, however, that the presidential train would make only a brief stop-over in La Junta in the early morning hours Wednesday.

This dashed all hopes that the president would attend the Koshare show. Also the announcement dashed the hopes of folks who wanted to see the president. The announcement said that "due to the early hour the president would not make an appearance."
