Awe Inspired Rotarians Dedicate Outdoor Theater

The gigantic Park of the Red Rocks theater, carved out of a sandstone hillside and provided by nature with a mighty souncing board of rock, was dedicated Sunday night at a ceremony marking the formal opening of the 1941 Denver convention of Rotary International. Pictured here is the capacity audience in the steeply tiered outdoor theater. Special musical numbers a presentation of Indian dances and addresses by leading Rotary members made up the program. Colored spotlights cast a strange beauty over the rugged rocks surrounding the theater during the program and added to the impressiveness of the dedication. Contributing to the enjoyment of the convention visitors was the fact that lans for handling traffic to and from the theater functioned perfectly. Success of the entertainment augured well for the future of the new theater.
